It was a bar of soap!!! On of my precious children put a bar of soap in the toilet! I have my suspicions, but no proof!
I have also discovered that on the third day in a row with not enough sleep my patience level drops. Dramatically! Pray they get better!

I also think my tolerance level drops about 50% when I'm sleep deprived and it already isn't high enough on a good day!
We once found a big rubber ducky in ours. Maybe a bar of soap would have eventually disintegrated and you could have just waited it out?
That makes me laugh! Not that you were up at 4am, and now you've found out it was something put in the toilet on purpose, but because I feel your pain. If it's not a sink that's clogged it a toilet... Today I found a drum stick in mine. Yeah, a drum stick!
